If you are thinking about a short trip to Thailand and Vietnam, we have got some super family-friendly accommodations plus exciting kids’ activities to share with you!

Kids Activity: Sense of Nature Walks on Koh Samui
Accommodation: Banyan Tree Samui, Thailand

The old maxim that “Children learn through play” certainly applies at Banyan Tree Samui where the Octopus Club offers 4- 12-year-olds a daily itinerary including Thai cooking lessons, traditional Thai dancing, Thai boxing, and sustainability-related topics to help them learn about nature and the environment. One standout activity is a Sense of Nature Walk for Kids, conducted by the resort’s Sustainability Team, where children can trek through the resort’s tropical setting and identify various wildlife and plant life native to the local area. The resort also offers two-bedroom Family Pool Villas which have adjoining villas that can accommodate 2 children. An in-house babysitting service is also an option.

Kids Activity: Getting Crafty in the Mountains of Mai Chau
Accommodation: Avana Retreat, Vietnam

This summer, Avana Retreat, a spacious resort tucked away in the mountains of Mai Chau, is running weekend activities for kids designed to create memories and bonding time with parents. Every Saturday kids can create ceramic dishes inspired by nature in the two-hour-long workshop, held twice during the day. From sculpting to painting children are hands-on in all aspects of the process. Sundays are for little chefs with two sessions for cooking classes where they can create simple and delicious dishes using local ingredients. All classes are located at the property’s Stilt House Museum.

Kids Activity: Coconut Leaf Craft in Cam Ranh
Accommodation: The Anam Cam Ranh, Vietnam

Decades ago, before the rise of televisions, smartphones and tablets, Vietnamese children and teenagers played folk games with toys made from leaves and plants. Guests at The Anam Cam Ranh can journey back in time and join a fun, hour-long coconut leaf craft session on the front terrace of Lang Viet Restaurant & Bar and learn about the traditional art of weaving coconut leaves and how the Vietnamese make use of coconut trees. Create fish, grasshoppers and more, and then bring home your decorative keepsake. The resort’s garden has more than 3,000 trees, so they always have an abundant source of coconut leaves. This activity is held at 3 pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from June until September.
