Mark your calendars, this Saturday (24 November), Kampung Glam is set to become a vibrant activity hub with its first ever Kampung Glam Day Out.
Organized by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and their community partners, you can anticipate a line-up of exciting programmes and family-friendly activities. Learn more about the neighbourhood’s history and trades, and, discover its lesser-known stories and places.
Visitors of all ages can participate in the guided tours, talks and workshops on Kampung Glam’s colourful history, the launch of children’s storybooks, movie screenings and even street carnivals.Guided tours are led by personalities like Mr Najip Ali, Mr Khairudin Saharom, and Mr Khir Johari, among others.
One Kampong Gelam has lined-up an evening of activities that will transform Arab Street into a lively space. Highlights include live music and performances by local talents, playgrounds for children, a canvas spray-painting showcase by artists, and plenty of street food. In addition, Bussorah Street will be bustling with music performances, as part of the ongoing Passion@KampongGlam. Kampong Glam Day Out will culminate in an outdoor movie screening at the lawn of the Malay Heritage Centre, where families and friends immerse themselves in an old-time classic under the stars.
