Teach your child about nature and encourage a green thumb. Plant some onions, potatoes or tomatoes in your garden. Have her set the seedlings in the soil, or try hydroponics method and set the bulb (onion) in water for a few days until you see roots, and then plant the seedling in potting soil, watering it when the soil dries out.
