September 12th, 2018
Attention Mommies and Daddies of stressed out twelve-year-olds! With PSLE coming around the corner, here we have 5 tips to guarantee a peace of mind and a lifetime of camaraderie between parents and kiddos!
- BOUNCE IT OUT
With, the abundance of kid-friendly places constantly making its appearances in Singapore-say hello to being fun parents! Head on over to Bounce SG, located in the heart of Orchard at Cathay Cineleisure L9. A place where the whole family can join in and unleash their inner Tigger. Trust us when we say you will be having a spring-loaded stress-free time!
- Picnic by the beach
Get your picnic mats and basket, kite-flying apparatus, swimwear and sandcastle kit out! Bask out in the sun, sea and sand. Drop by the nearest beach and indulge in some afternoon fun with the family. De-stress by planning a fun-filled day of activities or laze by the sea and embrace the gentle breaking of waves on the shore. Remember to stay clear of Yogi and Bubu bear!
- Do nothing
Yup! With various tuitions scheduled on a weekly basis and the overexertion of your little twelve-year-olds, set aside a day for the kiddos to do nothing. Allow them to sleep in and energise themselves before getting back to the books. Ample rest works wonders for the human mind!
- Take mini-breaks from studying
For every sixty minutes of study time make sure your kiddos slot in a 10 to 15 minutes break time. Mini breaks can improve both focus and attention. However, how they spend their breaks are crucial too! Spending time on smartphones during break times are not advisable therefore suggest a few stretching exercises or strike up a short conversation amongst each other. Remember to keep things light!
- Movie night
To take their mind off the books, scheduling a movie night with the family wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. Make it fun by having a different family member pick a movie for the week and learn more about one another’s movie preferences. It’ll be a complete shocker if your tough twelve-year-old ends up a huge lover of romantic comedies while your partner fares the complete opposite. What are you waiting for? Grab a bucket of buttered popcorn and get working on your Netflix list now!
