Want to get back in shape after your pregnancy? Fret not, here are some postnatal fitness classes that will help you achieve your desired workout goals, and are child-friendly too!

Bloom’n Fit

Bloom’n Fit’s STROLLtastic programme is specifically for mothers who want to keep fit, socialise and raise their kids at the same time.

Workouts include cardiovascular fitness and strength and conditioning training and both body and band resistance is used. They run women-only classes to suit all fitness levels from beginner to advanced and you can book a free trial before you commit to any of these programmes.

STROLLtastic happens every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 9.30am in the Botanic Gardens.

COMO Shambhala

Post-natal yoga can help new mothers regain strength and stability in the core abdominal, pelvic floor and back muscles. Along with various yoga poses, deep-breathing exercises are also introduced to help calm the mind, bringing about a sense of peace to the inner self.

Mothers should wait at least four to six weeks after vaginal birth and 10 weeks after a caesarean section to take these classes. Babies are welcome!

Body Temple

Body Temple’s senior team members are mothers themselves who are highly skilled in helping new mothers achieve a healthy pregnancy, labour and recovery.

Their Yummy Mummy programme, which includes 10 personal training sessions, lasts for five weeks and works to increase energy and vitality as well as boost your self-esteem after pregnancy.

Mom in Balance

They offer outdoor workouts for pregnant women, postpartum recovery workouts and total body workouts. Their Back in Shape programme aims for a speedy recovery and trial sessions are available as well. Workouts are in small groups under personal guidance by certified trainers and you can purchase a Flex Card if you cannot commit to a fixed weekly regimen.

Mother and Child

At Mother and Child, majority of the postnatal classes which are offered are of an educational nature. For example, their four-week New Mothers Get Together programme provides new mothers an avenue to meet other mothers in the same situation as them and discuss topics like feeding problems, common illnesses and the issue of going back to work after giving birth.

They also offer postnatal massage sessions, which focus on helping to restore your body to its pre-pregnancy state by retraining muscles and connective tissue. These sessions are held in the comfort of your own home.
