This incredibly therapeutic and aromatic medicinal oil has countless uses. From nasal decongestion to relieving nausea, here’s why you should start using Cajeput oil today.
Where is it derived from?
Cajeput oil, or as it’s more widely known, Whitewood Oil, comes from the Melaleuca Leucadendra (Cajeput tree) and Melaleuca Quinquenervia (Paparbark tree). From the straits of Sulawesi, Indonesia and certain parts of Australia, the fresh leaves and twigs of both plants go through vigorous steam distillation to produce the final fragrant product – Cajeput oil.
What are the benefits of Cajeput oil?
Cajeput oil is a tried and trusted remedy to treat ailments such as nausea, headaches and colds. The oil contains anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, making this oil extremely versatile in its uses. From reducing scars, itch, rashes and insect bites, to reducing head, gum, joint and muscle pains, the use of this oil are endless.
On top of being versatile, Cajeput oil can also be mixed with a vast array of soap, body scrubs, deodorants, toothpaste and hair oils to enhance the application. Having a strong camphoraceous odour, smelling similar to hyacith, the Cajeput blends well with other types of oil like tea tree, eucalyptus, clove, rosemary, lavender and pine oil.
